Black Bear Trestle Kit, TJK-5LZ

This is the classic five-leg trestle design. It has been in use from the late 1800's to the present. Steam or diesel locomotives go great with this timeless design. This kit comes with everything you need to build a 40' tall x 100' long trestle.

This bent is characterized by legs that extend all the way from the ground up to the top cap. They often rested on sills at the base.

Construction Jig and Instructions
This kit comes with the popular 5-leg assembly jig. All the instructions, drawings, and documentation you need is included with the jig. The step-by-step instructions show how to build the bents and install the trestle in your layout. The jig can be purchased separately if you already have all the wood you need.

Materials Pack
Wood is supplied in 6" long pieces. Wood is available in 24" lengths to make it easier to build long and tall trestles. There is enough bracing material to install diagonal braces and girts throughout the trestle. If you want to build a trestle twice as tall, buy two materials packs. If you want to build a trestle twice as tall and twice as long, buy four materials packs. You can buy as many materials packs as you need without having to buy another jig.

H = 3-3/8"
W = 2-3/8"

Laser cut acrylic with 1/8" thick base and 1/16" top plate.
Builds standard gauge, Z scale trestle bent.
Easily cleaned with soap and water.
White glue does not stick to the jig.
Slots work with 1/16" x 1/16" wood.
Clearance hole keeps glue away from the jig and lets you clean the glue joints front and back.
For taller trestles, extend the legs out the end of the jig.
